Community Guidelines.

How we expect members, organizations, and facility partners to show up for each other on Egen Active.

Effective 20 April 2026 · Last revised 20 April 2026

1. Why these guidelines exist

Egen Active is a community of people who want to move more, belong more, and pay less. These Guidelines describe what we expect from everyone using the Service (members, organization administrators, instructors, and facility partners) so that the community stays safe, welcoming, and useful.

These Guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Service. Where the Terms describe your legal relationship with us, these Guidelines describe how we expect you to behave.

2. Who these guidelines cover

Every person with an Egen Active account. That includes individual members, members funded through an organization, organization administrators, facility partners and their staff, and anyone posting on the community feed, in groups, or in events.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization or facility, you are responsible for ensuring your team follows these Guidelines.

3. Show up for each other

The feed, groups, and events exist so members can find people to be active with. Keep conversations friendly, accurate, and on-topic. Welcome new members. Assume good faith when something reads ambiguously; ask before escalating.

Being part of this community is a privilege, not a right. We reserve the right to remove anyone who undermines it.

4. What is not allowed

Do not post, share, or message content that:

  • harasses, threatens, stalks, or intimidates another member;
  • targets someone based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, or other protected characteristic;
  • is sexually explicit, sexually suggestive toward minors, or contains nudity;
  • depicts or glorifies real-world violence, self-harm, or suicide;
  • promotes illegal activity, regulated goods (firearms, controlled substances), or gambling;
  • is defamatory, libellous, or knowingly false;
  • impersonates another person, organization, or facility;
  • shares another person’s private information (phone number, address, ID document, medical status) without their consent;
  • promotes unrelated commercial offers, pyramid schemes, or “get-rich-quick” content;
  • contains malware, phishing links, or attempts to probe, scan, or overload our systems; or
  • otherwise violates Nigerian law or the laws of your country of residence.

5. Photos, videos and tags

Ask before you photograph or film someone else at a facility, especially in changing rooms, poolside, or during private sessions. Many facilities prohibit photography outright. Respect their rules.

When you tag other members in a post, you are telling them (and the community) they were there. If someone asks you to remove a photo, video, or tag of them, do so promptly.

6. Groups and events

Group admins and event hosts are responsible for the content inside their groups and events. Set clear purpose and rules, keep the member list accurate, and remove content or members who violate these Guidelines.

Events posted on Egen Active must be real, must take place at the stated facility or location, and must be open on the terms described. Do not use events to funnel members to external offers or unrelated businesses.

7. Facility conduct

While you are inside a partner facility, the facility’s rules apply: dress code, equipment, guest policies, age restrictions, lane etiquette, cleanup. Treat staff and other members with respect. Leave the space as you would want to find it.

Repeated reports from facility staff about conduct (no-shows, damage, disruptive behaviour, harassment) may result in suspension of your access to that facility, or to all facilities.

8. Instructors, coaches and professionals

If you hold yourself out as an instructor, coach, or health professional on the Service, represent your credentials accurately. Do not give medical, dietary, or clinical advice outside the scope of your qualifications. If your professional body prohibits certain activity online, we expect you to follow it.

9. Safety beyond the app

Meeting someone through Egen Active is like meeting through any social service: meet in public first, trust your instincts, and share your plans with someone you know. We do not vet members for criminal history.

If you feel unsafe at a facility or in an event, contact facility staff immediately and, if necessary, local authorities. Tell us afterwards so we can take action on our end.

10. Reporting

If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, report it. Use the report action on a post, message, or profile, or email

  • trust@egenactive.com for content and conduct on the Service;
  • safety@egenactive.com for urgent safety concerns or threats;
  • partners@egenactive.com for facility or organization misconduct.

Reports are confidential. We do not share the identity of the reporter with the reported party except where required by law.

11. How we respond

Our trust and safety team reviews every report. Depending on severity and history, we may:

  • remove the content;
  • issue a private warning;
  • restrict a feature (posting, messaging, joining events) temporarily;
  • suspend the account for a defined period;
  • terminate the account and block future re-registration; or
  • refer the matter to law enforcement where there is a credible risk of harm or a legal obligation to report.

Where a member is suspended or terminated, active bookings and subscriptions may be cancelled. Refunds, where applicable, follow the rules in our Terms of Service.

12. Appeals

If we take action against your account and you believe we got it wrong, you can appeal by emailing appeals@egenactive.com within 14 days of the action. Include your account email, a description of what happened, and anything you want us to consider. A different reviewer than the one who made the original decision will respond within 10 business days.

13. Children and under-18 members

Individual Egen Active accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Where a parent or guardian enrols a child through an Academy program, that child’s participation is governed by the program’s separate terms, not by these Guidelines. Do not share photos, videos, or personal information of a minor on the Service without the consent of their parent or guardian.

14. Changes to these guidelines

We will update these Guidelines as the community grows and as we learn. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date is your acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
